Change Begets More Change

Updated: Sep 26

Last week we talked about how we are responsible for creating change in our lives. This week I want to talk about how that change has a snowball effect to create more change in our lives.

You’ll often find that as you change one thing about yourself you’ll start to create more. Change begets more change.  Experiencing the results that improve your life will cause you to want to create more of these changes for even more results. You see what happens when you’re being conscious and active in your decisions and realize that the one area in your life that’s seeing improvement and realize you can do the same in other areas.

Inner world and outer world changes are interconnected with you. When you create space in your outer world, like cleaning the clutter from your room, it helps clean the clutter in your mind. Just like when you create changes in the way you view a situation in a healthier manner, those same situations tend to lessen in severity in your mind, or even happen less frequently.

When you start taking a step to analyze why you’re triggered at work, analyze it and respond instead of reacting in your relationship, things go smoother. You get better results than if you go off your knee jerk reaction of lashing out or snapping at people. You see these results and start applying this in other areas, like at work with your boss or your customers who ask the same annoying questions over and over.

You see and feel the results you’ve gained from eating healthier and exercising and start applying that discipline to your job or your studies to get better results there.

After practicing gratitude and focusing on that, you see the negative thoughts lessen and start stepping into a more abundance based mindset, which leads to other improvements that spread into your life.

You do inner work to change your view and relationship to money and stop treating it like it’s some scarce thing you struggle to get. You notice eventually it starts coming to you easier when you need it. This in turn causes you to look into what other shifts in mindsets you can utilize to create similar changes in abundance in your world, be it opportunities, love, or luck.

These results cause you to look into areas like your relationships and why it seems everyone always leaves you. You start doing parts work to go more in depth and see the strategies you’ve been using to push people away before they can leave you. You see the patterns of this and discover the root trauma that caused you to adopt this tactic. Then you check and see what you can do to heal that fragmented part of you so you’re no longer going to those patterns to push people away.

You’re aware of the changes you’re making in yourself and like how you feel. You start to respect yourself. As a result, over time you start cultivating a better relationship with your inner critic and change the way you talk to yourself. You’re not beating yourself up like you used to. This in turn changes the way you let other people talk to you and treat you. You set your boundaries and you stand firm in them.

Often this causes some pushback from those who aren’t used to you asserting your boundaries. Some of you might be fine with that, but others might have triggered feelings of needing to people-please. But that’s okay! You’ve become aware of yourself to notice these things and know the process you need to do to heal that as well! (But the good news is despite some people not liking you sticking up for yourself, more will be proud of you for it, which is always encouraging.

The changes you create begin to lead to more changes because you begin to see the results.  You see yourself changing and take the lessons you learned in one step and see how you can apply it to other areas of your life.  Keep looking for those signs that the Universe is sending you to confirm they’re taking effect and feed your attention to them and watch the changes you make to better yourself take off and create more change in your life!

Thank you for reading, and as always, have an enlightening day!
