You are an alchemist. You must learn to transmute your emotions, energy, thoughts, and interactions to manifest the world you want for yourself. The legend of the alchemist was their pursuit to transform base metals like lead into gold. This was more often than not a metaphor for transforming ourselves as we are now into our highest form. We elevate ourselves above our base urges into something greater instead of grifting along in life like so many others wind up doing. One aspect of this practice (of many that we will touch on in later posts) is controlling the flow of your energy.
Energy needs to flow. Just like water needs to flow so it does not become stagnant, so does energy. Emotions are a massive example of energy. In fact emotions are energy In(En) motion! I frequently talk about how important it is to release emotional blockages, and this is why.
Emotional blockages are like a dam that’s holding the flow of your energy back. When your energy is stagnant it affects your magick. It will hinder your ability to manifest. The energy within you can’t flow out and set in motion the events to bring you what you want.
You have to learn how to master and release your energy so it can flow to you and through you. This is the alchemy. This is how you prevent yourself from becoming energetically stagnant. There are many ways you can do this, and the following is by no means a comprehensive list.
Going to the gym is a common practice for transmuting energy. You don’t have to have the goal of being the next Arnold Swartzenegger, but lifting weights has many benefits. It lets you burn off those excess emotions you’re experiencing. The process helps clear your mind as well as help you build a healthier body.
Cleaning your environment is another way to get energy flowing again. Clutter is like a magnet for stagnation. Clearing your space frees up room for fresh energy to come in and bring better things.
Dancing is another way to get the energy flowing. Many magicians use dancing as part of the process of charging items such as candles before ritual. Any action that has you moving creates flow.
Journaling is another tool you can use. Writing your thoughts frees up space in your mind so you can have clearer focus. Reading your thoughts on paper is like seeing into your mind from a third person perspective. From this angle you can better see what areas of your life you need to pay more attention to and where you need healing.
Writing stories, songs, poems and making art is another way to use writing to clear your mind and get your energy flowing. Both of these methods get your thoughts and emotions moving from the mental to paper. This process in particular is a great form of chaos magick for manifesting.
However the most effective way to clear these blockages is to just let it all out. Sit by yourself (or with someone you trust that you can be vulnerable with) and lean into the feelings. Let it all out. Cry, feel sad, feel angry, feel multiple emotions at once if you need to. Don’t let them consume you, but rather let them flow through and out of you. Let go of the pain and release the emotions. Let the dam break and allow the emotions to rush out and flow like a river.
This is but a small, yet effective list of ways to get your energy flowing again. There are many other methods and tools, but this is what usually works best for me. They might not work for everyone, and that’s ok. Find the methods that suit you best and run with them. Get your energy flowing like a river so you can swim into joy, prosperity, and abundance.
