Many of us have dreams we want to achieve in this life before we die. But for most that’s where it begins and ends. A dream cannot become a goal without a plan. And a goal cannot become reality without action. A lot of people in the spiritual community want to focus on visualization and the law of attraction. While these are real concepts and tools you can use in life, most people fail to realize this is only a part of the equation when it comes to manifestation. Too many people put their sole focus on visualizing their dreams, but never get up to do the work needed to make it a reality.
Visualization is a tremendous tool. It’s a crucial part of manifestation. The more we visualize something we desire with as much detail as possible the more it sends that energy out into the universe. You picture what it’ll look like. You hear what it will sound like. You inhale its scent. You imagine what it’ll feel like. You can even imagine in some cases what it will taste like. You do all these things and most of all you envision it with a sense of gratitude as though it has already happened. That emotional energy fuels the vision.
Again, for most, this is where the practice stops. Then when nothing happens, they stop and say that it’s all woo-woo. They stop at the easy part. The second part is incredibly crucial to most manifestations, work.
That tiny four letter word scares so many people off. Visualization without work is just a dream. You have to take steps to achieve your desires. Visualization puts the energy out there, but working toward what you visualize creates the means for the universe to bring it to you.
You can sit in a chair and visualize having a fit body until the cows come home, but until you start an exercise routine and better diet you’re not going to get in shape. You can visualize paying rent, but you have to do the work to get that money to come to you.
All good things take consistent work. Things that come easy will leave just as easily. You have to work consistently to lay the foundations for lasting success in any endeavor. Large visions take time and effort to build them up and into existence. When you’re working toward your goals you show the universe you’re serious about what you want. It will test you to see if you’ll keep working toward your goal.
Many people stay stuck in the visualization stage because to take massive action can be intimidating to many, and small consistent steps sound tedious and boring. It’s not sexy, until you start seeing the results. That’s when you start to appreciate it more. Going back to our exercise routine example, you start going to the gym and hate how sore your body is the next few days after lifting weights, or how awkward learning those yoga poses are. You push through that and keep going though. After a few weeks you start noticing definition to your muscles, or you notice how you look more toned and your old jeans are starting to fit you again. Then you want to keep going. You’ve seen the results you get because of the work you’ve put in CONSISTENTLY.
Visualization is a vitally important component to manifestation, but it is only one part of the process. You take your vision and you build it with work and dedication. The bigger the dream, the more work you need to put behind it.
